This benefit is only available to financial members of the CFMEU and Plumbers Union.

The maximum amount payable for a Natural Disaster Hardship Claim is $5,000.

The benefit is capped on actual proved hardship suffered by the member up to the maximum ($5,000).

The benefit is payable upon evidence that the member has suffered financial loss or hardship as a direct result of the natural disaster.

To be eligible the member must reside in an area impacted by the natural disaster.

Any claim received will only be considered for payment if the claim is submitted to BERT within six (6) months from the date of the natural disaster.
